Order management

One order desk for Shopify, Amazon, and everything else.

With adorabl's ecommerce order management software, each order moves from confirmation through picking, packing, shipping, and invoicing, whether it came from Shopify, Amazon, a wholesale buyer, or a phone call. You'll see all of it in one list instead of three browser tabs.

Stop stitching order tools together.

Your Shopify orders live in Shopify, your Amazon orders live in Seller Central, and your wholesale orders arrive by email, a business-to-business (B2B) portal, or an electronic data interchange (EDI) feed. Somebody has to tie them all together. Multichannel order management puts every channel's orders in one system with one inventory count. adorabl keeps the order, the shipment, and the invoice on one record, so you'll know what sold, what shipped, and what you're still owed.

Each channel follows its own rules

Set it once per channel: how orders ship, whether they need a label, and which warehouse they leave from. A Shopify POS sale and a wholesale order won't take the same path, and you won't have to decide each time.

A to-do list for your warehouse

Orders sort into lists: ready to ship, picking, packing, shipped today, and invoices waiting. Search by order, customer, or tracking number when someone calls asking where their package is.

Books that move with the carton

When an order ships, adorabl updates inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS). When it ships in full, adorabl creates the invoice. Buy postage in adorabl, and it records the label cost as a shipping expense.

From new order to invoice in four steps.

For orders you ship yourself, adorabl's order fulfillment software follows four steps. Pickup, third-party logistics (3PL), and marketplace orders skip the steps they don't need.

  1. 01

    Confirm the order

Create an order or import one, then choose the customer, warehouse, ship-to address, and channel. Drafts stay editable until you submit.

  2. 02

    Pick, pack, and ship

Picking, packing, and shipping each get their own list, which works whether you have a warehouse crew or it's just you at the kitchen table. Choose the bin, box, and weight, print the packing slip, and send it out the door.

  3. 03

Buy a label if you need one

Compare live carrier rates, buy postage, and ship in one step. Inventory and COGS update when the package goes out.

  4. 04

    Invoice when it ships

When an order ships in full, adorabl creates the invoice from the shipped items and order prices. If the channel requires prepayment, adorabl applies the deposit.

Ship it yourself, drop ship it, or hand it to a 3PL.

Orders all start in the same place, whether you ship from one shelf, several warehouses, or a 3PL. The channel or the product decides how each order gets fulfilled, so 3PL order management and supplier drop ship follow the same rules as in-house orders.

In-house

Pick, pack, and ship from your own space, and buy a label when the channel calls for one.

Customer pickup

No picking or packing. Record the pickup, and adorabl pulls the stock from the store or order warehouse.

Third-party logistics (3PL)

If a 3PL warehouse ships for you, the order waits until they confirm it went out.

Marketplace fulfillment

When Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) or another marketplace ships the order, confirm it, and adorabl removes the stock from the marketplace warehouse.

Supplier drop ship

adorabl creates a linked purchase order for your supplier. Add their tracking number when it ships, and the product goes to your customer without touching your shelves.

Shopify, Amazon, and B2B order management in one place.

Whether you need Shopify order management, Amazon order management, or both, every order lands in one list in adorabl. Tag each order with where it came from, and your dashboard will show sales and margin by channel.

Connected Shopify stores fill in the order number on their own. Connecting Shopify will bring in your products, locations, customers, and orders, and adorabl sends inventory counts back to Shopify as orders ship. How to connect Shopify

Compare rates, buy the label, and ship once.

With adorabl's shipping label software, you can enter the package weight and compare live carrier rates from the order screen.

Shipping label troubleshooting
  • adorabl sorts rates from cheapest to priciest, with badges for the cheapest, fastest, and recommended options.
  • Buying the label marks the order shipped, saves the tracking number, and updates inventory, so stock won't get counted out twice.
  • If a warehouse address is missing, adorabl stops and tells you which one instead of guessing where to ship from.

Partial shipments, changes, and other real-life mess.

Customers change their minds and stock runs short. adorabl keeps the order open, protects work that's already started, and records what changed and why.

Order it when it sells

Mark a line as purchase-to-order, and adorabl creates the purchase order for your preferred supplier. Receive the stock, then ship it.

Ship what you have

A partial shipment sends the items in stock now and keeps the rest of the order open until they ship. Each completed shipment gets its own invoice.

Fix an order without losing the history

Change quantities, items, warehouse, or ship-to address on an open order. adorabl logs the reason with a before-and-after snapshot.

Started work stays put

Once picking starts, those quantities lock until you cancel the fulfillment. You can reopen an order as a draft any time nothing's committed.

Example · Trail Ridge Outfitters

One wholesale order, start to finish.

Trail Ridge Outfitters sells hiking gear on Shopify and Amazon and wholesales to outdoor shops across Colorado, shipping from two warehouses.

  1. 1. The order comes in
Aspen Sports Co. orders 48 pairs of wool socks and 24 trail hats through the wholesale portal.
  2. 2. It gets packed
The order lands on the Denver warehouse's picking list. The picker pulls the items from their bins, packs a medium box, and prints the packing slip.
  3. 3. It ships and invoices itself
Inventory and COGS update the moment the box ships, and adorabl creates the invoice for Aspen Sports Co.

Your dashboard will count an order as on time if it ships within two days of the order date.

Ecommerce order management questions, answered.

What is order management software?

Order management software tracks each sales order from the moment a customer places it through picking, packing, shipping, and invoicing. adorabl's order management software will connect those orders to your inventory, purchasing, and accounting, so each order, shipment, and invoice will share one record.

What does order to cash mean?

Order to cash is the full sequence from a customer's order to the payment landing in your bank: order entry, fulfillment, invoicing, and collection. In adorabl, each order will carry its channel tag through every stage, so your reports, shipments, and Shopify or Amazon payouts will line up with the right orders.

Do I need order management software if I already sell on Shopify?

If you ship a few dozen orders a month from one location, Shopify's built-in tools may be enough. Once you add Amazon, wholesale buyers, or a second place to ship from, keeping orders, stock, and invoices in sync by hand will start eating your week. That's the point where order management software for small business earns its keep.

Can I manage Shopify, Amazon, and wholesale orders in one system?

Yes. adorabl will bring orders from Shopify, Shopify POS, Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon), your own website, a wholesale business-to-business (B2B) portal, electronic data interchange (EDI), and phone sales into one list, each tagged with its channel. You can ship from one warehouse or several, and channel defaults will decide where each order ships from.

Does adorabl work with 3PLs and drop-ship suppliers?

Yes. When a third-party logistics provider (3PL) ships for you, the order waits until the 3PL confirms the shipment. For supplier drop ship, adorabl creates a linked purchase order, you'll add the supplier's tracking number, and the product will go to your customer without touching your warehouse.

When will adorabl create the invoice?

adorabl will create the invoice when an order ships in full, using the shipped items and order prices. If an order ships in parts, each completed partial shipment will get its own invoice. When a channel requires prepayment, adorabl will apply the deposit to the invoice.

Can I buy shipping labels from the order?

Yes. You can compare live rates from carriers, buy the label, and ship from the order or fulfillment screen. Buying the label marks the order shipped, saves the tracking number, and updates inventory and cost of goods sold, so stock won't get counted out twice.

What happens with partial shipments or changes to a submitted order?

A partial shipment sends the items in stock now and keeps the rest of the order open until they ship. You can also change quantities, items, the warehouse, or the ship-to address on any open order, and adorabl logs the reason with a before-and-after snapshot. Quantities already being picked stay locked until you cancel that fulfillment.
